Caring for Your Little Pet Portrait

Little Pet Portraits are hand painted with watercolor and gouache on vegan vellum (a type of paper), sealed beneath colorless quartz, and securely set in a gold bezel. This setting is not watertight and Little Pet Portraits should never be exposed to or submerged in water.

We will send you a microfiber cloth with your Little Pet Portrait—this cloth is the safest way to clean its quartz surface. Never use liquid cleansers, ultrasonic jewelry cleaners, or other jewelry polishing cloths, as they could contain abrasives or chemicals that could permanently ruin your jewelry.

Avoid exposing your Little Pet Portrait to cosmetics, household cleaners, chemicals, excessive moisture, or prolonged direct sunlight. Do not wear while showering, bathing, or in steam rooms. Do not wear during strenuous activity or while in or near water.

We recommend the “last on, first off” rule: put on your Little Pet Portrait as the last step after getting dressed and applying any cosmetic products, and take it off first before beginning your evening routine at the end of the day.

Always store your Little Pet Portrait—with any chains clasped—in the pouch and box that accompanied it.
